Book One – Discourse 1
Saunaka and other sages enquire of the famous Sūta (Ugraśravā)
Long ago in the forest called Naimesharanya, many sages gathered to do a long sacrifice expected to last thousand years to realize God.
The rishis paid respects to the great Sage Sūta. The rishis were confused about what to do and what are the best means of realizing God in Kali Yuga. All the rishis asked Sūta to explain the story of Lord Krishna since Sūta knew about Krishna’s birth, Krishna’s leelas, and why he was born.
Thus ends the first discourse relating to the Naimesharanya forest in Book One of the Bhāgavata Purana.
